Bear Hazard Assessment
A bear hazard assessment is an on-site risk assessment of operations. We evaluate what staff is doing in the field, look for wildlife attractants (natural and non-natural), and potential lines of sight issues. We also meet with staff to discuss their work, concerns and current protocols.
After the field assessment, a best management practices document is provided and a review of current documents related to bear safety. This information can help a company improve their safety practices in bear country and reduce their impact on local bear populations.
Other related services we provide:
Development of bear and wildlife response plans
Consultation on bear and wildlife safety protocols and policies
Communication and outreach strategies that encourage staff and clients to comply with bear safety protocols, regulations and practices in bear country
Crisis communications after an incident occurs
