Bear safety is not just a matter of protecting ourselves from bears. It's also about humans taking responsibility for the protection of wildlife. The key to reducing negative interactions with wildlife is prevention, through better management of ourselves, our communities, and our rural worksites.
Avoiding and Responding to Wildlife Encounters
At Bear Safety & More, we deliver bear safety programming and training to recreation groups, community organizations and industry.
We work with biologists and wildlife managers, advisory committees, and multiple levels of government to engage all stakeholders in wildlife conflict reduction. These relationships ensure that we are knowledgeable about the latest research, regulations and bear conflict solution techniques.
Our work supports the Alberta BearSmart program's goal to increase public awareness and educate those who live, work or play in bear country on how to avoid and respond to possible wildlife encounters.
